November 19th

Welcome back from our 2 week break. Here are the winners from our "Dragon" challenge.

Factionless Winner:
 Isic: A Blizzflake Guardian Dragon

Erudite Winner:
A Cloud/Air Dragon

Amity Winner:
An Odd Dragon that was crossbred with a scorpion, but eats children's cereal and replacing it with broccoli!

You all did an excellent job!

Now on to a little bit of sad news, we only have 3 classes left this session. We have all been working so hard that we haven't noticed the time flying by. So we need to finish off the projects we are currently working on and still have time to work on our fairy house lanterns as well as the storyboards for the lantern walk. We sure have a lot to do in this next 3-4 weeks.

This weeks sketchbook assignment is to draw something: "layered"
(Hint: I need to be able to see the layers)

I'll post more photos of our current projects next week!!
As well as a list of projects that will need to be completed for our next art show. Which reminds me, our next art show will not be until January so we can include the storyboards we are painting for the lantern walk.

Factionless Winner:

Erudite Winner:

Amity Winner:

Congrats to all our winners!

This week's assignment is a 2 week assignment as we have no class next week. We will be drawing "realistic" dragons.

Make sure you decide on:

1. Type of dragon (Water, Fire, Death, Earth etc)
2. Scales to match your type
3. Wings to match
4. Tail to match
5. Feet to match

After seeing the detail you guys were able to draw your owls with I know that this won't be too much of a challenge. Here is what we drew to get us inspired:

Check out on Pinterest Art Club board

There are great pins on the different types of scales, wings, and tails.

October 29th

Wow, I'm quite surprised at how fast time goes by when we are all so busy working on amazing projects.

Three week's ago our sketchbook assignment was to draw a stack of teacups. Here 2 of the winners from that week. (If you are the third, please come see me during class)

Two week's ago sketchbook assignment was to draw an Owl. I know I made this one hard to think outside the box, as I try to get you guys to do but I promised this weeks would be wide open. Here are the owls that the class drew.

I'm amazed at the details you all went into on these drawings. Great work!!

Ok and as promised, last week's sketchbook assignment was to "Scare Me" with something spooky, gory, or frightening. I forgot to take photos of the winners but I will post them with next classes blog.

In class we continue to work on the 3 different projects.
1. Melted Wax Canvas
2. Large 3D Letters
3. Water Colour Pumpkins (which I think are finally complete)

Here are a few pics of you guys hard at work!

Finishing up the Watercolour Pumpkin

Prepping for the Melted Wax Canvas

Putting finishing details on to her Melted Wax Canvas

Cutting our the Large 3D Letters
(the hallway was the only place big enough for all 3 of them to work together)

As of this coming week we are starting something brand new and so exciting. I can't wait to tell you all about it! And we even have a guest or two popping in to talk to us about it as well. Oh the suspense........
